Polocaine 3% Mepivicaine Hydrochloride Injection, USP Plain Provides anesthesia for both infiltration and nerve block techniques. Provides rapid onset duration for short term procedures in both upper and lower jaw. Known to not cause irritation and/or tissue damage. Plunger has easy smooth movement as both plunger and cartridge are silicon coated. Free from natural rubber latex leading to reduced allergic reactions. Sulfite Free thus reducing allergies for sensitive patients. The onset of action is rapid (30 to 120 seconds in the upper jaw; 1 to 4 minutes in the lower jaw) and 3% Polocaine will ordinarily provide operating anesthesia of 20 minutes in the upper jaw and 40 minutes in the lower jaw. Includes: (5) Blisters of (10) 1.7ml Glass Cartridges; Total of (50) cartridges. Polocaine is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to local anesthetics. Polocaine should not be used in patients with congenital or idiopathic methemoglobinemia. Common precautions include aspiration prior to injection to help avoid intravascular injection.
