OK ® Strips are Type 4 Chemical Indicators for use in 250°F(121°C) and 272°F (134°C) steam cycles. OK Strips monitor critical sterilization parameters: steam, time, and temperature. In sterilization cycles OK strips guard against incomplete steam penetration, presence of non-condensing gases or excessive air, as well as from inadequate temperature or insufficient time exposure. When exposed to adequate parameters for steam sterilization, the K with turn to a dark color to match the pre-printed reference color O letting you know that it is “OK” to move forward. OK strips also feature an arrow pointed towards the “OK” which will change to a dark color when exposed to adequate parameters for sterilization.
