Permanent retention can be greatly enhanced using a flattened, dead-soft 8 braid wire. Using a flattened wire prevents torque control issues usually associated with using round wire. When bonded on the maxillary arch there is little to no occlusal interference. Can be used for permanent or temporary retention, holding diastemas closed, periodontal splinting, and to help maintain extraction sites.
