VisCalor bulk is a light-curing, radiopaque nano-hybrid restorative material. It is characterized by an increased depth of cure while at the same time showing reduced shrinkage stress, which means that it can be cured in layers of 4 mm thickness. VisCalor bulk contains 83 % w/w inorganic fillers and is used with a dentin-enamel bond. VisCalor bulk is pre-warmed before application. The increase in temperature leads to reduced viscosity and thus effortless insertion into the cavity as well as very good adaptation of the composite to the cavity walls. When filling of the cavity is complete, viscosity increases again as the composite cools down. In this state the material is very easy to sculpt.
